Two teenage brothers connected to “numerous” armed robberies in Gwinnett County were arrested in Snellville, police said.

Deontae Robinson, 17, faces three counts each of armed robbery and aggravated assault, while his brother Kenneth, 16, faces four counts each of the charges, Gwinnett County police said in a release Friday afternoon.

Three gas stations along Stone Mountain Highway and Highpoint Road in unincorporated Snellville have been the target of a number of armed robberies since March, Gwinnett police Officer Sam Flynn said in the release.

“The (brothers) used a black handgun to demand cash and cigarillos from cashiers at the stations and once robbed two people sitting in their car outside an adjoining laundromat,” Flynn said.

During two of the armed robberies, the teens threatened to kill the victims, according to police reports.

Using surveillance footage, authorities traced the brothers to a home on Highpoint Road, where they were arrested, Flynn said. Police recovered the gun used in the robberies and stolen property inside the home during a search.

Deontae Robinson remains in the Gwinnett County jail without bond. Kenneth Robinson is a juvenile, but Flynn said due to the severity of the crimes, he is being charged as an adult.
