A bomb squad detonated a pair of suspicious packages found Tuesday morning outside Miami police headquarters.
The scene was cleared by authorities around 11:45 a.m., nearly two hours after the packages were first discovered. No explosives were found.
The packages prompted an evacuation around 10 a.m., according to police.
Local reports indicated employees were allowed back into headquarters after one of the packages was detonated around 11 a.m. However, Miami police said on social media that a bomb squad had yet to give the "all clear" for authorities to return to business as usual.
Police did not immediately say what the packages contained or what made them suspicious.
According to WFOR, a bag was found on a walkway near the front entrance to the police station.
The evacuation took place while police held their monthly awards ceremony next door at the City of Miami Police College, WPLG reported.
Additional information on the packages and where they came from was not immediately available.
