Authorities are investigating a homicide at an apartment complex near Austell, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A person was found dead at the Birch Landing Apartments in the 500 block of Maxham Road, according to Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jesse Hambrick.

The call came in to authorities about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Channel 2 reported.

“We are not releasing any further information at this time as this is still a very active investigation,” he said.
