The SCAD student, who asked not to be named for her safety, said the incident started at the intersection of Peachtree and Spring streets.

A Savannah College of Art and Design student was afraid she was going to lose her eyesight when someone in another car threw a chemical in her face in Midtown Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The SCAD student, who asked not to be named for her safety, said the incident started at the intersection of Peachtree and Spring streets.

The two suspects were in a white SUV preparing to turn left onto Spring Street, she told Channel 2. She said she pulled in front of them, and that upset the other driver.

“I turned, and right when I turned, liquid was flying into my eyes,” she said.

She thought it was water at first.

“By the time I had started driving behind them, the burning started to kick in and I realized it was a chemical-like substance and I couldn’t see for a solid 10 minutes,” she told Channel 2. “I tried to flush my eyes out as best I could.”

Other SCAD students heard her screaming and stopped to help.

Police said the suspects kept driving and stopped at a nearby restaurant.

“It’s crazy that they like were laughing and knew how strong this chemical was and still wanted it on someone’s face,” the SCAD student said.

Police said the white SUV was stolen from a rental business and never returned. Investigators urge anyone with information about the suspects to come forward.
