Sandy Springs police have charged six suspects with breaking into more than a dozen cars at a local apartment complex over the weekend.

According to Sgt. Ron Momon and information provided in an incident report, officers responded to the Indigo House Apartments on Glenridge Point at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday after a 911 caller reported seeing several males “breaking windows of cars to gain entry.” The young men — ages 17 to 20 — were found driving around the parking deck in a stolen Mercedes Benz.

Upon being confronted, Momon said, the suspects abandoned the car and attempted to run away. They were apprehended after a short chase.

“One of the suspects jumped from the second level of the parking deck and injured his leg and head, making him unable to flee any further,” the incident report said. “He was transported to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.”

The suspects were identified by police as 20-year-old Anthony O’Neal, 19-year-old Kelvin Stone, and 17-year-olds Marcus Palmer, Jamarcus Purnell, Jawaski Canton and Antwon Palmer. All were listed as Atlanta residents and have been charged with 14 counts of entering auto.

Stone was also charged with aggravated assault, police said.
