A Conyers man is in custody after police said he attacked two former coworkers with a knife Thursday night in the parking lot of a Gwinnett County Kroger.
The men had just left the store on Scenic Highway and were walking toward their car when they were approached by 37-year-old Michael Shaw, Snellville police said.

According to officers, Shaw started a fistfight with one of the men. He then left to grab a knife from his car before returning to stab the second, Snellville police spokesman Officer Brian Arrington said.
The man who was stabbed was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he underwent surgery early Friday, Channel 2 Action News reported. The man who was punched suffered minor injuries and stayed at the scene to speak with police.
According to investigators, Shaw and his alleged victims worked together at some point, but it’s unclear what prompted the attack.
He left the scene before officers arrived and was arrested a short time later near Norcross, authorities said. Shaw was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail just before 4 a.m. on charges of aggravated assault and battery, online records show. He remains held without bond.
