A four-hour standoff ended when police arrested a man accused of holding his little sister hostage and injuring his stepfather.

Overnight dozens of police cars blocked the entrance to the Parkview subdivision in Henry County, police said.

It all started about 11 p.m. Sunday when officers got a call about a confrontation between the stepfather and his 24-year-old stepson Eric Christopher Penn.

“[The stepfather] did state that the stepson struck him with a weapon, and we actually observed the weapon,” Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith said.

The stepfather suffered an injury to his head.

Penn, of Locust Grove, then ran inside the house with his sister inside, police said.

Four hours later, hostage negotiators determined he wasn’t there.

State probation officers found him roaming the subdivision after calls of a suspicious person in the area.

Police said the accused man’s little sister was home alone when officers rushed inside.

She was not injured.
