Authorities are seeking two men who they say stole 70 cartons of cigarettes from a delivery truck.

Shortly after 8:15 a.m. Friday, two men pulled up beside the truck at a Chevron station on McCollum Village Parkway in Coweta County, according to the sheriff’s office Facebook page. The men were in a newer model silver Toyota Camry.

“The vehicle pulled up to the pumps like they were getting gas,” sheriff’s investigator Jae Robertson said.

As the driver closed up the truck and walked toward the front, one of the men opened the car’s trunk and pulled the car beside the truck, according to Robertson. The men then opened all four doors of the car.

“The passenger then walked around the delivery truck and distracted the driver,” Robertson said.

The other man then stole three totes from the truck that contained the cigarettes.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Robertson at 770-253-1502.
