A Whitfield County sheriff's deputy was arrested on child molestation charges after a two-county investigation.
Justin Litzenberg, 23, of Dalton, was arrested Thursday on three counts of child molestation, false imprisonment and cruelty to children in the first degree, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.
Both Whitfield and Bartow county sheriff’s offices investigated the deputy after the Bartow criminal investigations division found out about a possible child molestation that occurred there in 2016.
Litzenberg is being held in the Bartow jail. His bond hearing is set for later Friday.
He is the second Whitfield County worker accused of child molestation recently.
William Taylor White, 34, of Chatsworth, was arrested Saturday at the Whitfield County Fire Department, where he works, Sheriff Scott Chitwood said in a news release.
White is also part of the department’s 16-member “Clown Posse,” which has performed recently in local elementary schools to teach kids about fire safety. He is known as “Spladder” the clown.
