A South Georgia pastor and school bus driver was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated child molestation and sodomy, authorities said.

Daniel T. Hines, 38, is the pastor of City of Refuge Family Worship Center, Brunswick police told the Brunswick News. He’s also a school bus driver with Glynn County Schools, the school district confirmed.

Hines was placed on paid administrative leave Monday after the school district was told about the police investigation, the newspaper reported.

A church member on June 28 filed a complaint with local police, alleging Hines engaged in sexual misconduct with a child under the age of 16, police told the Brunswick News. As of Thursday afternoon, the church’s phone number had been disconnected, and both the church’s and Hines’ personal Facebook accounts were deleted.

The newspaper had written profiles about him in the past, including when he was affirmed and consecrated to the office and function of chief apostle in 2016.

Hines turned himself in about 4 p.m. Wednesday, and he remained in the county jail without bond Thursday, according to the newspaper.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 912-279-2641 or the Silent Witness hotline at 912-267-5516.
