A registered sex offender in North Georgia is accused of raping and molesting children in addition to several other sex-related crimes.

Jeremy Lee Remlinger, 37, faces eight felonies in Pickens County, the county’s sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. He was arrested Monday at his business, Wreck A Mended Auto Body, which is located in Jasper near the intersection of Ga. 53 and Camp Road.

Detectives began investigating after receiving tips that Remlinger had abused multiple minors in Pickens County, the post said. The number of alleged victims and their ages are unclear. Information on them as well as other details are not being released, sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Kris Stancil told AJC.com.

Remlinger’s charges include rape, statutory rape, child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual battery, solicitation of sodomy, false imprisonment and violating the Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act, the post said.

In 2006, he was convicted of statutory rape in Georgia, according to the GBI's sex offender registry. His last known address was in Jasper.
