A tall Massachusetts man faces charges after a caller told police he was spotted standing out of his sunroof and driving Thursday afternoon.
Hingham police arrested Ryan Delaney, 20, on one count of driving with a suspended license.
According to the The Patriot Ledger, Delaney's license was suspended for seven "surchargeable offenses." The offenses include traffic accidents and speeding.
He was not charged with reckless driving in relation to allegedly standing while at the wheel, the newspaper reported, because the report came while Delaney was in nearby Rockland and not Hingham.
A driver called police around 3:30 p.m. Thursday after spotting Delaney at a Home Depot, according to police. The 6-foot-7-inch tall man was standing in a Buick LeSabre and driving, according to the caller.
It was not clear how Delaney could steer while standing.
The caller followed Delaney until police stopped him at South Elementary School, where he was arrested.
Authorities released Delaney on bail Thursday, but he didn't show up Friday when he was scheduled for an arraignment in Hingham District Court, according to The Patriot Ledger. He was charged with failure to appear.
Delaney is also facing charges related to a 2014 crash that seriously injured a woman, according to the newspaper.
