Police: Suspect ID’d who said he ‘messed up’ after shooting man in South Fulton

A 65-year-old suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting at a South Fulton apartment complex on Thursday morning, police said.
John Paul Moore is accused of shooting and killing a man at the Westwood Glen Apartment Homes in the 1200 block of Fairburn Road, South Fulton police spokeswoman Ashley Minter-Osanyinbi said in a news release.
She said Moore called 911 after the shooting, stayed at the scene and told police “that he had messed up,” AJC.com previously reported.

Minter-Osanyinbi said Moore and the victim got into an altercation shortly before gunshots were heard at 8:27 a.m. Their relationship is unknown, although they weren’t strangers.

This shooting about 12 hours after another deadly shooting in the city, officials said. The two shooting are not connected, police said.

Moore faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to jail records. He remains in the Fulton County Jail without bond.
