Police are looking for one or more suspects responsible for a DeKalb County shooting Monday afternoon.
A woman was shot in the head and a man was shot in the hand, police said. Both were taken to area hospitals.
“It’s not believed the female shot in the head is going to be life-threatening,” DeKalb County Police Capt. Stephen R. Fore said.
Officers responded to the report of gunfire at the U.S. Deli in the 5700 block of Rockbridge Road near Stone Mountain around 3 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
“An argument ensued between two parties here in the parking lot,” Fore said. “That argument erupted into gunfire.”
The victims’ conditions are unknown at this time.
Deli employee Jimmie Sanders said he witnessed the aftermath.
“It was chaos. Everybody was everywhere,” he said.
According to Sanders, the victims are siblings.
“They were innocent,” he said.
