A burglary crew that’s believed to have broken into pharmacies in Cobb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties is still on the run.
Police are trying to catch them to prevent stolen opioids from hitting the streets.
Johns Creek police told Channel 2 Action News the crew broke into OH Pharmacy off Medlock Bridge Road twice within the past few weeks. The pharmacy’s owner, Min Oh, said he hopes police quickly find the group responsible for pushing a safe out of his business.
“Hopefully they can be identified, and then the police can catch them as soon as possible,” he said. “The second time they came in, they took the whole safe out of the pharmacy.”
Police said the safe contained a few thousand pills, mainly Oxycodone, the news station reported. Surveillance video shows five hooded people push the safe out of the business before making their escape.

“If you have a safe, make sure you drill it down to the ground so they can’t pick it up by manpower,” Oh said.
Investigators have tied the crew to pharmacy burglaries in Cobb and Gwinnett counties.
“Opioid addiction is a serious problem anyway, and with these pills being sold on the street — people that are not doctors or pharmacists — the concern is they get in the wrong hands,” Lt. Todd Hood said.
Officers said the SUV used to haul the safe was stolen. No details about the color, make or model of the vehicle were provided.
