The Fresno Police Department posted details of the arrest on its Facebook page. On Monday, police conducted a traffic stop and discovered that the driver, Khamprasong Thammavong, 33, was a documented gang member who was on probation.

After taking custody of Thammavong, a probation search of his home was conducted and police recovered weapons, including a semi-automatic rifle and a semi-automatic handgun. The firearms appeared to be the same types of weapons that Thammavong was posing with in photographs found in the home. The firearms were not registered to Thammavong. Police also found tactical gear, narcotics paraphernalia and 38 marijuana plants. Police indicate the suspect was not licensed to possess or grow marijuana in the state.

Thammavong was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and cultivation of marijuana, among other felony charges. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
