An intoxicated 24-year-old man in Florida got his wish to be arrested Thursday night after he punched an officer in the face, according to a West Palm Beach police report.

When Daniel Dolan came upon a female officer Thursday night, he said he was intoxicated, the police report states. He then handed the woman his wallet and asked to be arrested.

The officer, who has been on the force a little less than a year, told Dolan she would not arrest him for being drunk and suggested he catch an Uber ride home, according to the report.

The Palm City man then turned to another officer at the scene.

“Don’t make me hit her to get arrested,” police say he said to the other officer.

Dolan then punched the female officer in the face, according to the report. The man was taken to the ground and handcuffed. The officer wrote she did not have any serious injuries.

The man was arrested on charges of battery on an officer. He remained in the Palm Beach County Jail late Friday in lieu of $3,000 bail.

He does not appear to have any other arrests in the county.
