Actress Lindsay Lohan’s father was arrested this morning on battery charges stemming from an October incident involving his wife and children, according to Boca Raton Police.
Monday morning, Judge Joseph Marx ordered Lohan, 55, be put on supervised release while the case is open.
In October, Lohan and his wife, Kate Major Lohan, were arguing when he slapped one of their children for an undisclosed reason, according to the report. She told police she pulled out her phone and recorded him as he continued to be abusive verbally and physically toward her.
In the video, Lohan appears to egg his wife on, telling her to hit him so he can blame her for the fight, according to the report.
Lohan told police this isn’t the first time he was physical with her, but she was hesitant to call police because of an ongoing Department of Children and Families investigation.
Lohan’s wife was arrested in April on battery charges for scratching her husband during an argument. Charges were never filed in the case.
She was also sentenced to eight months in jail and a year probation in March 2014 for a driving under the influence.
