Police remained on the scene at Jonesboro Middle School in the early afternoon Friday, investigating what turned out to be a prank call about a shooter inside the building.

Jonesboro police chief Franklin Allen told Channel 2 Action News that no shots were fired, no one was injured, and all students were safe.

Allen said no weapons were discharged and there was no active shooter.

The call came in just before 11 a.m. from an unknown number, Channel 2 reported.

No one was in custody as of Friday afternoon, Allen said.
