A drunken woman took off her pants and stole a city employee’s truck Saturday morning, according to an arrest report made public Tuesday.
The city employee left the truck running and the door open while placing flags on the grass for the West Palm Beach Green Market. Just before 9 a.m., Amara Korin Marrero, 24, of Palm Springs jumped into the truck and started slowly driving south on the sidewalk, police say.
The city employee saw the car moving and ran after it. He reached into the car as it was moving and turned off the engine, he told police.
Investigators found Marrero’s pants in the bushes nearby, the arrest report says.
Marrero smelled like alcohol and appeared unaware of her surroundings, police said. She couldn’t answer any questions that investigators asked her.
Police later learned that Marrero has no valid driver’s license.
Marrero faces charges of grand theft auto, driving without a valid license and driving under the influence.
She remained in the Palm Beach County Jail on Tuesday. Her bail is set at $15,000.
