Two west Georgia men are behind bars after being charged with setting fire to their neighbors’ homes and farm equipment, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dylan “Jake” Marlow, 21, and Roy Hunton, 43, both of Bremen, were arrested Thursday after setting “multiple structures and items on fire” along Mandeville Road near I-20, police said.

Both men live on North Raburn Road and have had several recent civil disputes with neighbors that may have prompted their alleged arson spree, deputies said in a Facebook post.

Police said they were able to identify the men using surveillance footage from one of the homes they’re accused of damaging.

The fire affected two houses and several pieces of farm equipment, police said, estimating the cost of the destruction to be well over $100,000. One of the neighbors suffered burns to his arm and face while trying extinguish the blaze at his home, police said.

Both Hunton and Marlow face eight counts of first-degree arson, one count of third-degree arson and one count of aggravated battery, Carroll County jail records show.

Marlow’s bond was set at $40,000 during his first appearance Saturday morning while Hunton remains held without bond.

In addition to the arson investigation, deputies said several suspicious fires have occurred in the area recently and Georgia Arson Control is offering  a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to a conviction in those cases. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 1-800-282-5804.
