A man was robbed and shot in the groin by people he knew, Decatur police said Wednesday.

Officers were in the area of Mead Road/Leyden Street/Cambridge Avenue investigating a robbery and shooting that occurred on Cambridge Avenue about 7:30 p.m., Decatur police spokeswoman Lt. Jennifer Ross said.

No additional information was immediately available.
