A woman who led police on a pursuit through a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in Seattle was arrested Friday afternoon.
The incident started about 1:30 p.m. Friday when a woman called 911 and said she’d found her previously-stolen purse posted for sale on Craigslist. The woman then told officers she contacted the seller and planned to meet them in front of the Krispy Kreme on First Avenue South and South Holgate Street.
“Police rushed to the scene, where they found the suspect standing outside the doughnut shop,” department spokesman Jonah Spangenthal-Lee said in a statement. “When the suspect spotted the officers, she took off running through the Krispy Kreme.
“Officers remained focused on the suspect, chasing her straight through the store and down the block.”
The suspect tried to hide in a shopping container, but was found by officers who recovered the victim’s purse and arrested the suspect. The woman is expected to have first appearance at the King County Jail Saturday afternoon.
