Douglasville police have arrested two people in connection with a shooting that left two 16-year-olds wounded at a neighborhood swimming pool last month.
Dante Bland, 17, and Jeremiah Stanton, 18, are behind bars on a host of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, cruelty to children and participation in criminal gang activity, jail records show.
Police responded to the swimming pool in the Sweetwater subdivision off Preston Boulevard about 5 p.m. July 23 after two 16-year-olds were shot, Douglasville police Maj. J.R. Davidson said.
The altercation began as an ongoing dispute between at least 10 people who police believe showed up at the pool to fight.

“The fight ended when one person pulled a handgun and fired several times,” police said in a Facebook post.

The teens who were shot suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, investigators said.
The incident was captured on the pool’s surveillance cameras.
Stanton was arrested July 31 and Bland was taken into custody Aug. 1, jail records show. Both men remain at the Douglas County Jail without bond.
Police did not say what prompted the gang charges, but Davidson said investigators are still searching for others involved and additional arrests are likely.
“We are working to arrest everybody responsible, but we don’t have everyone in custody yet,” he said Friday.
