A stolen truck slammed into a house in southwest Atlanta Monday morning, police said, leaving a woman who was sleeping inside shaken but unhurt, according to Channel 2 Action News.

A person described by Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones as “a possible suspect” in the incident was in custody at Grady Memorial Hospital. No further details were immediately released.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. in the 400 block of Holderness Street SW, Channel 2 reported. Atlanta firefighters were still on the scene late morning, checking the structural integrity of the badly damaged home, Jones said in an email.

A man who said he owns the truck that was stolen told Channel 2 that he had started the vehicle and had it running when he went inside his home. When he came back out he saw someone in his car, he said, then confronted the suspects who he said took off in reverse down Holderness and crashed into the house.

He said, “They were young boys, high school kids.”
