Pedestrian killed in DeKalb hit-and-run

A pedestrian was killed early Friday in a hit-and-run, Decatur police said.

The deadly accident happened about 3:30 a.m. in the 300 block of East College Avenue, Lt. Jennifer Ross said in a statement.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Ross said. His name was not released.

It is not clear what type of vehicle investigators are seeking in connection with the incident.

The Georgia State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call Decatur police at 404-373-6551.

Also, tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org.
