A Peachtree City man wanted on sexual assault charges in Pennsylvania was arrested Wednesday.

Peachtree City police said they located and arrested Christopher Jackson Carter, 57, of Wisdom Circle, on outstanding warrants for 10 counts each of rape by forcible compulsion, rape of a mentally ill or deficient victim, involuntary deviate sexual behavior and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a victim less than 16 years old and other charges.

The charges stem from an ongoing investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police, according to Peachtree City spokeswoman Capt. Rosanna Dove. She had no further details.

Carter is in the Fayette County jail awaiting extradition by Pennsylvania authorities, Dove said.

Pennsylvania authorities were not available to provide further information on the charges.
