A Paulding County man was arraigned on federal charges after Homeland Security investigators said he filmed himself engaging in sex acts with a child on more than one occasion.

A federal court accused Thomas Cwik, 31, of producing, distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement Monday.

“Child pornography production is, plainly speaking, the filming of child rape. In this case Mr. Cwik allegedly victimized numerous children,” Homeland Security Atlanta Special Agent Nick Annan said.

Cwik was arrested April 23  after Homeland Security officials found pornographic videos of minors in his home, AJC.com previously reported.

Paulding sheriff’s and Homeland Security investigators executed a federal search warrant at the home on Primrose Lane in Powder Springs, near where Paulding, Cobb and Douglas counties meet.

Investigators said Cwik traded child pornography online with another person in January 2019, according to U.S. Attorney Byung J. Pak. The search of his home yielded hundreds of child porn images and videos, Pak said.

During the investigation, officials also learned that Cwik participated in sex acts with a minor in Cobb County and captured the incidents on two videos, Pak said.

Cwik was indicted by a federal grand jury July 9.
