Police hope new video released Tuesday will generate leads in a weekend shooting in northwest Atlanta that left a 32-year-old man dead.

The video appears to show a red Hyundai sedan, a man running across a parking lot and another man in a store just before Derek Ward was shot in the head.

The shooting occurred about 8:15 p.m. Friday at the Daron Village Apartments on Harwell Road, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer TaSheena Brown said. Ward, 32, died after being rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.

No other information was released on the incident.

“The red vehicle, the man running across the parking lot and the man in the store shown in this video are wanted in connection to a homicide,” police said.

The man running across the parking lot appears to have shoulder-length dreadlocks or braids. In the video, he is wearing a black sweatsuit with a white stripe down the arms and legs. There is an emblem on the back of his jacket, and he is wearing a hat.

The man seen entering the business has a low Afro and is between 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He is wearing dark clothing and a skull cap in the video.

The video appears to show another man enter a store around the time Derek Ward was shot in the head Friday night.
