Murder suspect charged in death of girlfriend’s unborn child

Already suspected in the slaying of his live-in girlfriend, a North Georgia man has been charged with the death of her unborn child, the Rome News-Tribune reported.

Authorities also said David Ryan Walker, 29, strangled Candace Hankins, 29, at their home in LaFayette, according to the report.

Authorities think the slaying happened inside the couple’s house and that Walker wrapped Hankins’ body in a blanket and took it into nearby woods, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said.

Walker County is about 105 miles northwest of Atlanta.
