A woman was charged with murder Friday in the death of her girlfriend’s 4-year-old daughter, according to Clayton County police.

Shardae Glover, 28, was charged with felony murder, cruelty to children in the first degree, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery, according to news release from JaQuitta Williams of the Clayton County Police Department.

Jamila Hart was pronounced dead Sunday at Southern Regional Medical Center after neighbors frantically tried to revive her. She was unresponsive and not breathing when police arrived at the River’s Edge Apartments in Jonesboro.

Police say both Glover and the girl’s mother, 24-year-old Danielle Hart, were charged Sunday with child cruelty and child deprivation after interviews at police headquarters. Those charges were related to two children found in the home at the time of the incident, according to the release. The children were placed in the custody of other family members.

The police investigation continues and the exact cause of death has not been determined, according to Clayton police.
