Mom visiting baby in ICU says she was attacked near hospital

The woman walked to the ATM across the street and was robbed moments later.

A woman says she was attacked and robbed near Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, where she was visiting her son in the intensive care unit, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Breanna Ross had been visiting her 1-month-old son, who is recovering from pneumonia, when she decided to take a lunch break, she told Channel 2. As she was walking across the street, she said she was attacked.

“All of a sudden someone came behind me,” she said. “I had my wallet under my armpit, and someone snatched my wallet.”

Ross said as she turned around to see who it was, she was hit in the head.

The person ran off with her money and wallet, Channel 2 reported.

So far, Sandy Springs police have said the case is inactive because they haven’t been able to reach Ross, according to Channel 2.

But Ross said she hasn’t heard from them.

"I care that they get him off the street because what if he decides to do this to somebody else,” Ross told Channel 2. “I don't want this to happen to anybody else."
