The mother of a boy left outside the Atlanta jail Monday night has been arrested, police said.

Lakeisha Parker was booked into the Atlanta jail where she allegedly left her 4-year-old son, Ethan Parker. Jail records show the mother was located and booked just before 5 a.m. Tuesday. She was still in custody on a $1,500 bond Tuesday afternoon, a jail official said.

Parker faces a reckless conduct charge, which is a misdemeanor.

The child was taken to Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital, where he could be evaluated by social workers and Division of Family and Children Services, Atlanta police spokesman Lukasz Sajdak said.

“The family will take the child until a further investigation is conducted,” Sajdak added.
