The Suwanee brothers reported missing after allegedly being abducted by their father have been found safe in Austin, Texas.
Austin police told Channel 2 Action News that Henry and Ben Cleary were with their father, Daniel Cleary, when they were found Saturday evening at a Crossland Economy Studios motel on the northwest side of the central Texas town. Daniel Cleary was taken into police custody.
Police in several states had been searching for Daniel Cleary and his sons since Wednesday. That’s the day the father was supposed to return Ben, 9, and Henry, 7, to their mother’s Suwanee home, authorities said.
When they weren’t returned, police were contacted and an amber alert was issued by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the organization that sends out such alerts when children are presumed in danger.
On Friday, police released surveillance footage of Daniel Cleary with the boys on Dec. 23 and 24 at a Walmart in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The boys' mother, Theresa Nash told Channel 2 Action News that she hadn't heard from their father since Dec. 22, and that his phone has been shut off.
“I got suspicious when I didn’t hear from them by the end of the day Christmas,” Nash said.
