A metro Atlanta man is jailed on an attempted second-degree murder charge after authorities say he fired gunshots at a driver on I-20 in Louisiana.

Lorenzo Darmon Stewart, 33, of Lithia Springs, allegedly fired at the driver Friday afternoon while he was among a group of motorcyclists near Monroe, La., authorities told a television station in that area.

The victim told deputies in Ouachita Parish that several motorcyclists were driving recklessly while traveling west on I-20, according to the report.

One motorcyclist tried to pass the victim and another vehicle, officers said, and the second vehicle slowed down, letting the motorcyclists pass.

About a mile ahead, Stewart slowed down, then began following the victim, according to deputies.

Stewart then fired, hitting the victim’s vehicle several times. Authorities caught him soon after in Lincoln Parish.

The victim, who was not identified, was not injured, authorities said.

Ouachita Parish jail documents show Stewart with an address in the 2800 block of Waterford Club Drive in Lithia Springs. He’s being held on $100,000 bond.
