Cobb County police Wednesday morning were investigating an overnight shooting in a parking lot near the new Braves stadium.

Sgt. Dana Pierce said police were called to the DoubleTree Suites in the 2700 block of Windy Ridge Parkway after two people were shot just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Pierce said a man was shot in his side and a woman was shot in the arm in a parking lot across from the hotel.

The victims came inside the DoubleTree seeking help, and that’s when police were called, DoubleTree spokeswoman Maggie Giddens said.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions were unknown Wednesday.

The hotel’s carport was blocked off with crime scene tape, and detectives could be seen going in and out of the lobby, according to Channel 2.

Police were also spotted in a parking lot across the street, which witnesses said is an office building for a construction company. They were interviewing a security guard at that building, Channel 2 reported.

Pierce said officers were searching for multiple suspects, who took off in a blue Toyota Camry.

They have not released a possible motive in the shooting.
