A man who molested a girl over the course of a year will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Antorio Parker was sentenced Monday to life in prison plus 75 years, according to the Griffin Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

He was convicted Sept. 16 of multiple counts of child molestation and aggravated sexual battery, according to DA’s office.

The victim, who was 11 to 12 years old during the time of the abuse, testified in court against Parker, Assistant District Attorney Kate Lenhard said.

"Because of the courage of a young girl, a predator will no longer be able to prey on other children," Lenhard said. "We are extremely grateful for the service of our Spalding County jurors in this case. Justice was served."

According to Lenhard, the uncle of the victim noticed inappropriate contact between Parker and the girl. When he questioned the girl, she told him about the abuse. That’s when he took the girl to the hospital for an evaluation, Lenhard told AJC.com.

“She said it happened multiple times — so many times she couldn’t give a number,” Senior Assistant District Attorney Marie Broder said. “We also charged him for acts against a younger child, but he was acquitted on those charges.”
