A fugitive wanted for allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old girl at gunpoint outside a Krispy Kreme in Riverdale and then sexually assaulting her has been captured in Kansas after a several hours-long manhunt, authorities said Thursday.
Tyreek Bowers-Rivera was taken into custody by the Kansas Highway Patrol who were pursuing him for allegedly stealing a car, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release.
The girl was kidnapped when her mother's car was stolen from outside a Krispy Kreme shop on Ga. 85 in Riverdale on Oct. 14.
The girl’s family told Channel 2 Action News after the incident that the man who stole the car let her out a few miles down the road. She then flagged down another car and called for help. She was later taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Channel 2 reported.
