A Wyoming man was arrested after he returned to the store he allegedly stole from twice in one day to fill out a job application, police say.
The Gillette News Record reported Sunday that the man went to outdoor sporting goods store Sportsman's Warehouse and bought items with a rewards card, but he also allegedly took sunglasses and .30-30 caliber bullets.
On Wednesday, loss prevention officers reported that a pair of sunglasses and some bullets, valued at $49.98, were missing from the store. Police Sgt. Kelly Alger, with the City of Gillette Police Department, said police were then called about the theft and the suspect.
Surveillance video showed the 36-year-old suspect taking tags off bullets and sunglasses, according to the News Record.
Police were contacted again three hours later when the man came back to the store to fill out a job application. According to store employees, he took two pairs of sunglasses, worth $84.94, without paying for them.
The stolen items were recovered and the man was issued a citation. The Associated Press reported that his identity wasn't made available.
