A man was robbed and shot outside a northwest Atlanta recording studio early Thursday morning, police said.

Officers were dispatched about 1:15 a.m. to Soul Asylum Studios in the 1600 block of Defoor Circle, where they found the man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Atlanta police spokesman Donald T. Hannah said.

The victim told police a tall man got out of a car, stole his bag and shot him as he stood on the passenger side of a Ford Expedition parked in front of the recording studio.

Police are looking for the shooter and the car, possibly a Toyota Camry, according to the victim and additional witnesses. At least two other men were in the vehicle, they told police.

The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Hannah said.
