Two people were killed Wednesday in a fatal shooting at The Metropolitan in Atlanta, police said.

The business and arts district, which is located at Metropolitan Parkway and Bronner Bros Way in Atlanta, comprises several recording studios, offices and living spaces.

Police responded to a shots fired call at about 8:22 p.m.

“When we arrived on the scene and made entry, they discovered the bodies of two males that apparently had succumb to multiple gunshot injuries,” Atlanta police Major Adam Lee III said.

A witness, Derrick Jones, said he was inside a different studio recording a new CD when he heard gun shots and saw two men running.

“We took cover,” he said.

Jones said he didn’t know what was going on at the time.

“Any time tragedy strikes, it’s not a good feeling,” Jones said. “You try to take cover and hope for the best.”

Jones said he thought another group of recording artists were having a listening party.

“I wish people would just stop the violence and, you know, just get along and just make music,” he said.

A waterline ruptured and flooded the crime scene, delaying police investigation, police told Channel 2.

Additional details were not immediately available from police.
