Authorities say a 19-year-old who brought a gun to a Cobb County high school earlier this week intended to shoot rival gang members.

Amarius Wanyaa Norris planned to shoot the gang members at South Cobb High School on Tuesday after they assaulted one of his fellow gang members at a Dollar General in Austell, according to a warrant.

Norris, who authorities say belongs to the Bloods gang, went to the school with a black book bag that had a stolen Cobra .380 caliber handgun in it, according to the warrant.

School officials asked Norris to leave multiple times after they recognized he wasn’t a student. He was later questioned and arrested.

Norris faces weapons, theft and loitering charges. He was also charged with participating in gang activity.

Two juveniles were arrested in the incident, but it is unclear what ties, if any, they have to Norris. Their charges have not been released.
