Man dies of gunshot in brawl outside bar
A man died Monday after being shot during a fracas outside a south Fulton County sports bar. A woman was also shot, and another man was severely beaten, authorities said.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified the man killed as Terry Rankins, 24, of Stockbridge. He died at Grady Memorial Hospital several hours after police said a fight broke out in the parking lot of the 50 Yardline sports bar in the 7400 block of Old National Highway.
An argument between two groups of men had escalated before the shootings, Channel 2 Action News reported.
“It resulted in one male being shot in the abdomen, one female being shot in the leg and another male being beaten very severely,” Fulton County police spokesman Scott McBride told Channel 2.
Police have not released identities of the other victims or a description of the gunman.
The sports bar is in a strip shopping center at Old National Highway and Jonesboro Road.
