A 65-year-old northeast Georgia man was killed Tuesday in a wreck on I-85 North in Banks County, authorities said.

Harry Harold White II of Canon died after driving his vehicle into an allegedly improperly parked tractor-trailer on the Exit 154 off-ramp, the Georgia State Patrol said in a news release.

White’s BMW X3 SUV struck the rear of the truck — which the GSP said was parked beside a “No Parking” traffic sign — after failing to maintain its lane and traveling onto the east shoulder of the roadway, the release said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Buffy Lashawn Perez, 49, and a 10-year-old passenger had non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.

Perez was charged with improper parking.
