The two then hug for several seconds before she kneels to the ground. When she gets up, the fight starts again.

When the woman had enough, she tried to go inside but Cruz followed her in. Cruz then began choking and beating his girlfriend inside the shop.

Customers stood dumbfounded for several seconds before taking action.

Clerks at the  store called police about the same time four men jumped in to separate the two.

Cruz was quickly taken to the ground, and deputies were on the scene in just over two minutes.

The woman begged deputies to not take Cruz to jail, but Kern County deputy Ray Pruitt told The Blaze, Cruz was on parole. That means he will spend some in the lock-up for spousal abuse.

His bond was set at $50,000.
