The driver in a deadly wrong-way crash on I-85 in Gwinnett County has been charged with DUI and vehicular homicide, according to jail records.

Joshua Boone, 23, of Syracuse, N.Y., was arrested Monday on multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road and serious injury by vehicle, records show.

Boone’s car slammed into another vehicle, killing Kippy Glover, 44, of Atlanta, just before 3:30 a.m. Monday, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said.

A 23-year-old from Las Vegas, who was a passenger in Glover’s car, was also injured, Washington said. Geara Tafoya suffered a broken arm and perforated bowel, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Glover.

The accident shut down I-85 south near Jimmy Carter Boulevard for more than two hours.

Boone, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, was released from the county jail after posting bail.
