Police have arrested a man who opened fire at two separate locations within a span of three hours, officials said.
Authorities connected Johntavious King to both shootings after he was found in an SUV seen at both crime scenes, according to Athens-Clarke County police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez.
Police were initially called to an Oak Hill Drive apartment complex. Multiple 911 callers reported shots were fired in the area about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“While reviewing video footage, officers were able to identify a vehicle involved, a white in color Jeep Cherokee,” Rodriguez said. “Officers were able to locate multiple shell casings in the area.”
Three hours later, officers responded to a similar call on Pamela Drive. Police found the Jeep Cherokee with King seated inside.
King was charged with two counts of reckless conduct and criminal trespass/damage to property.
No one was injured in the shootings and no witnesses have come forward to say they were targets, Rodriguez said. However, detectives are continuing their investigation.
Anyone with additional information about the shootings is asked to contact Detective Kim Johnson at 706-613-3330, ext. 331.
