A father has been arrested and a mother could face charges after their 1-year-old daughter was found crawling along a highway in Madison County.
Timothy Pickens, 37, was charged with cruelty to children, reckless conduct and obstruction, according to a report in onlineathens.com.
Pickens showed up on the scene after a motorist spotted the crying baby making her way down Georgia Highway 72 in Carlton around 10 a.m. on Friday. The man put the girl in his car and called 911, according to the report.
While deputies were investigating, Pickens came up to the scene “screaming that’s my child,” officers said in the report. They hadcuffed him when he refused to follow orders and pushed a deputy, according to onlineathens.com.
