A 26-year-old Villa Rica man suspected of sexually assaulting an intellectually disabled teenager was arrested Monday, authorities said.

Tahji Bridges is charged with one count each of aggravated sodomy and exploiting a disabled person, Villa Rica police said in a news release.

Investigators said the sexual assault occurred Oct. 26 at a home along Thomas Dorsey Drive. It’s unclear how Bridges knew the alleged victim, who police said is in her late teens.

The department started investigating the case Nov. 2. Less than two weeks later, detectives gathered enough evidence to take out a warrant for Bridges’ arrest, authorities said.

He remains at the Carroll County jail without bond, records show.
