No, he’s not a hospital employee, police said, and no, he wasn’t supposed to be back there.

He shouldn’t have gotten those prescriptions either — or filled them.

On Wednesday, Fayetteville police arrested Grant Christopher Allison, a man they believe used fake employee badges to enter restricted areas and steal prescriptions from three metro Atlanta hospitals. For now, he has been charged with burglary in connection with Oct. 6 and Oct. 10 incidents and Piedmont-Fayette Hospital.

“Fayetteville police believe Allison has committed the same crime at hospitals in Newnan and Henry County and are working with investigators in those jurisdictions,” Lt. Mike Whitlow said in an emailed statement.

Whitlow said investigators believe Allison, a 43-year-old Senoia resident, masqueraded as an employee in order to steal prescriptions “from computer terminals in restricted areas,” then filled the prescriptions at local pharmacies.

Whitlow said the prescriptions Allison filled were all controlled substances — “mainly oxycodone.”

“The badge was very generic not anything specific,” Whitlow said. “He thought it made him look official.”
